Futures are indicating higher this morning. I’ll be watching to see how they hold up.
It’s a short week, and probably a light week as far as trading volume.

We tend to think in US Dollars.
And this is for good reason, don’t get me wrong.
The US Dollar is the world’s dominant reserve currency.
But what if we treated Gold like another currency instead of a commodity?
It certainly acts more like a currency. Just look at the recent moves in Commodities, both up and down. Gold hasn’t exactly followed along….
So if Gold wants to behave like a currency, maybe we should treat it like one.
Here’s Gold priced in some very important currencies. In other words, this is what Gold looks like if you remove your US Dollar bias: [Read more…]

On Christmas or on any other day of the year, the goal is to sell things at higher prices than where we buy them.
And as great as Stocks have been performing, precious metals have done even better!
That relative strength is something we like to see in assets we own.
Now, when you zoom out in Gold, doesn’t this time remind you of that time 20 years ago? [Read more…]

Have you noticed commodities are breaking out?
No, not crude oil or copper. I’m talking about sugar, live cattle, and soybean meal.
Though these contracts rarely find themselves on the front page, their upside resolutions provide an important commodity-trading roadmap heading into 2023.
Plus, their relative strength reveals insight into the underlying nature of the current market environment.

Our International Hall of Famers list is composed of the 100 largest US-listed international stocks, or ADRs.
We’ve also sprinkled in some of the largest ADRs from countries that did not make the market cap cut.
These stocks range from some well-known mega-cap multinationals such as Toyota Motor and Royal Dutch Shell to some large-cap global disruptors such as Sea Ltd and Shopify.
It’s got all the big names and more–but only those that are based outside the US. You can find all the largest US stocks on our original Hall of Famers list.
The beauty of these scans is really in their simplicity.
We take the largest names each week and then apply technical filters in a way that the strongest stocks with the most momentum rise to the top.
Based on the market environment, we can also flip the scan on its head and filter for weakness.
Let’s dive in and take a look at some of the most important stocks from around the world.

That was very whippy action before the holiday weekend. Not great trading at all.
Lots of stops for me, but I kept my trades small.
Consumer Staples continue to be one of the leading sectors as we head into year-end. And if you know anything about the gang here at All Star Charts, we love to be long stocks and sectors that are showing strong relative strength.
So for our last new trade for 2022, we’re going to take a big swig of an energy drink maker. [Read more…]
