India Stock Market Indexes
This workbook of charts includes all of the major Stock Market Indexes of India as well as some lesser followed Averages worth watching. The idea is not to choose just one index and make decisions based on a single data point. We want to include all of the major indexes which include stocks with large market caps and small market caps to get a better idea of what stocks in India are doing as an asset class. NIFTY Stock Sectors
The Sectors Workbook is designed to go through all of the different NIFTY industries throughout the stock market for a variety of reasons. First, in order to get a weight-of-the-evidence view of the market, you actually need to weigh all of that evidence. Going through every single sector lets you do that. From a relative strength standpoint, this workbook really helps us see where the strength is and which areas are weaker. For each sector, this workbook also includes a chart showing the relative strength of the sector compared with the Large-Cap NIFTY 100. We chose the Nifty 100 instead of the broad-based Nifty 500 because the sector/thematic indexes are comprised primarily of Large-Cap stocks, so comparing them to the Nifty 100 provides a more apples-to-apples comparison. Nifty 50 – All Stocks
This workbook is inspired by the work we do in the United States where we break down every single stock in the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Dow Jones Transportation Average in order to weigh all of the evidence. You can learn more about that process here. In this case, we take all 50 stocks in the NIFTY 50 and analyze them on both weekly and daily timeframes. This is done so we can get longer-term structural perspective and then turn to the daily timeframe for a more tactical approach: (Updated Monthly)

Market Breadth
Breadth is an important aspect of our top-down approach. When the stock market is in an uptrend, we want to see it confirmed by the majority of stocks being in uptrends. In downtrends, we want to see it confirmed by the majority of stocks being in downtrends. We use breadth analysis to identify the strength or weakness of an underlying trend, as well as divergences to help identify potential turning points in the market. This workbook includes some of our custom indicators like “Breadth of Momentum”, as well as more traditional indicators like Advance-Decline Line, New 52-Week Highs and Lows, and others. International Indexes
The Stock Market of India does not go up or down because of what happens in the country of India, just like U.S. Stocks don’t go up or down simply because of what is happening within the United States borders. Stocks in India and Stocks all over the world tend to move in unison, to a certain extent. No matter where you live in the world, I think it’s important to constantly be evaluating the entire list of stock market indexes from every country on the planet. That’s what this workbook is for. It is personally one of my favorite workbooks of the list: (Updated Semi-Monthly)

Commodities & Currencies
The Commodities & Currencies Workbook includes the most active Energy Futures, Precious Metals, Base Metals, and Agricultural commodities, as well as the Indian Rupee relative to some of the world’s most active currencies. The fact that we use multiple timeframes to get both a longer-term perspective, as well as a more short-term outlook, gives us great opportunities on both the long and short side. It is great for diversification and uncorrelated positions. The unique advantages of the futures market also make this group of charts very attractive from a risk vs reward proposition. Intermarket Analysis
This workbook is designed to keep together all of the most important intermarket relationships in India and from all over the world. The ratio charts and chart overlays included here compare asset classes, country stock markets, and a variety of different sectors to one another. Here you will find anything from Large-cap vs Small-cap, Commodities vs Stocks, and the largest sector components vs its sector. We use this chartbook to get a better idea of where money is flowing. By keeping this workbook up to date, we know in which assets or sectors the strength lies and where the weakness might be. It is great for asset allocation, portfolio management, and an overall gathering of the weight-of-the-evidence. (Updated Semi-Monthly)

Monthly Charts
The most valuable 30 minutes of my entire month is updating my list of monthly candlestick charts. There is no doubt in my mind. It is easy to get caught up in the day to day drama that they call the market, but this group of charts keeps us honest about the direction of the underlying trend. At the end of each month, and only at the end, do we look at the completed candlestick chart of all of the major Stock Market Indexes, Sectors, and Stocks. We also include several important commodities in this list like Gold and Oil. When you spend 30 minutes each month (that is 12 times per year = 6 hours per year), you will quickly see how important it is to go through this process and how irresponsible it would be not to. Following each Nifty sector in our list are its top 2 components. To avoid redundancy when there is overlap between the largest components we use the next largest component in the sector.
