S&P Mid-caps hit All-time Highs

September 20, 2024

It's not just 7 stocks that are going up.

The S&P500 just made new all-time highs again today. But so did the Mid-caps.

Here is the S&P400 Mid-cap Index, which by definition includes only stocks that are NOT in the S&P500, hitting new all-time highs.

Meanwhile, the S&P600 Small-cap Index, is only 0.4% from a new 52-week high and only 2.5% from a new All-time high, which would finally get it to exceed its 2021 cycle peak.

It's a bull market.

And so we're acting accordingly.

We're in Chicago for our 2-day Portfolio Accelerator and this was one of the important topics of discussion that we covered in Day 1.

How should we act?

What should we do with our time?

Today, for most of the day, we found ourselves looking at stocks that we're buying, call options we're buying and even a few vertical call spreads in some cases where volatility is a little elevated. You do still see it at the individual stock level, despite a VIX down to 16 (from 65 last month).

Another chart that stood out to me, I called it "The Best Chart of Day 1", is this one right here.

We're looking at Gold, Silver and the Gold Bugs Index which includes all of the largest and most important Gold Mining stocks:

I think it's only a matter of time before these miners really get going.

We've definitely had some opportunities in this space all year, but I think they haven't even gotten started yet.

What does Gold at $5000 do to these stocks? Or $8000 if you think Gold will do what it did last cycle?

One last thing to note.

Stocks are working AND Gold is working.

They can go up together.

They have before. And they're doing it again.

I'm stoked to be here with our entire team and the special guests that have hung out and worked with us today, especially Sonu Varghese, Global Market Strategist at Carson Group, Michael Martin, Author of the Inner Voice of Trading, and Stephen Weitzel - Financial Advisor with over $1.3 Billion in assets.

We're all going out to the Cubs game tonight which will be a lot of fun.

But tomorrow is another full day.

If you're not here, I think you really should be.

I would encourage you to Contact Mary or give her a call +1 (323) 421-7910 and she'll answer any questions you might have.

You can also apply here and see if you're a good fit for the program.

Have a great evening!
