[Options] Monthly Positions Review - March

Once again this month, I'm going to share info on positions that were closed in the month of March. As a reminder, our exit plans are always laid out ahead of time in each trade idea we publish. In every case, the exits mentioned below were all exited in accordance with the plan as laid out.

As we head towards April expiration, we do not have any open positions remaining with April options. So no action is needed on that front. Unfortunately, on a closing trades basis, March wasn't much fun as we got whipsawed out of a bunch of trades. But, in every case, the losses will small and that's the name of the game.

Positions exited for a win in March:

$XBI April 120/160 Short Strangle: We entered this trade on March 10 and it hit our profit target on March 23rd. The range we were playing for materialized as I'd hoped, and neither of our short strikes were threatened during this hold. So it was a fairly routine delta neutral theta capture. One for the good guys!

 

Positions exited for a loss in March:

All hit our stop losses levels: $XOP (3/19), $SBSW (3/24), $SBUX (3/25), $SE (3/25), $DKNG (3/30)
