Momentum fades but firming economy keeps evidence bullish.

 

March 2, 2021 - Key Takeaway: For the second time in as many months in 2021, volatility picked up heading into month-end. While market momentum may be stalling, there is little evidence that a sustainable move lower is emerging. Even with the surge in bond yields (both Treasuries & corporates), financial liquidity is ample. Incoming economic data has been much better than expected, leading to an upgraded view of Economic Fundamentals. Earnings as well have surpassed expectations, though Valuations and Sentiment continue to warn of imbalances. Another breadth thrust in February helps keep the path of least resistance for stocks higher.
