[Video] Cryptos Are Just More Stocks To Trade

August 27, 2021

In the early days of Crypto, we were taught to believe these were currencies.

And in the case of Bitcoin, maybe it is. But when you go down the cap scale, these things are no different than stocks.

For me they're "Tech" stocks. For Howard they're "Software" stocks.

Either way, we agree that these are just more stocks we can trade. And if you choose not to, well then you're leaving a lot of alpha on the table.

Why would you purposely choose to ignore this particular group of names?

Howard and I discussed all of this during a livestream this week.

Enjoy!

[Video] Sentiment Analysis In Crypto

August 25, 2021

This week I had a chance to chat with my old pal Phil Pearlman, who's the Chief Behavioral Officer at Osprey Funds.

Phil and I have been talking markets regularly for over a decade, both behind the scenes and on YouTube.

Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be here today discussing on-chain analysis of crypto currencies. But here we are!

In today's video we discuss two of my favorite gauges of sentiment, the exchange balances and the dormancy rates. We also touch on the current breadth in crypto markets as the percentage of coins breaking out to new 30 day highs continues to expand.

[Video] Why Does Fibonacci Work?

August 14, 2021

You guys know that I use Fibonacci levels to help us identify targets and manage risk.

And you've all seen it work, with your own eyes, for many years. I have too, of course, as one of the gang here calculating these levels every day.

But I've never quite understood WHY it works. How come these numbers keep showing up all over Nature. Why do the prices of stocks and other assets keep respecting these levels?

When I get asked, I don't have an answer.

But if there's anyone I'm going to ask, it's gonna be Bart. So that's what I did.

And figured why not share this with all of you?

This was a lot of fun!

[Video] "Banks Are Walking Dead" | My Conversation w/ Howard Lindzon

May 21, 2021

It's always nice to sit down and talk about what the future is going to look like.

Currently, the largest hotel chain in the world doesn't own any hotels (Airbnb). The largest taxi cab company in the world doesn't own any taxi cabs (Uber).

Will the largest bank in the world not own any banks? Howard Lindzon says yes, "Banks aren't dead, they're walking dead".

This was fun. I learned a lot.

It gives me more reason to keep an eye on opportunities in the Crypto Markets.

I'm a chart guy, as you're all well aware. Price drives all of my decision making. But if you're interested in what's happening behind the scenes (I am), then this one is for you!

[Video] The Untitled Chart Show w/ Josh Brown: Classic Year 2

May 8, 2021

Every month we get a fresh batch of Monthly Candlesticks. It only happens 12 times a year.

I promise you guys from the bottom of my heart that there is no other part of my entire process that provides as much value and information as my monthly chart review. Premium Members can access the Chartbook here.

In the meantime, my friend Josh Brown and I have been doing these short monthly videos since last summer.

On this latest episode we talk about how the market is behaving like it normally does in Year 2 of Bull Market cycles. Choppy, messy, and with a much different profile than the prior year. And, not only is that normal, but anything else would be historically abnormal.

Defensive areas like Consumer Staples, Gold, Bonds and Japanese Yen have been shining. We didn't see that in Year 1. It was the exact opposite.

We like shorting the Nasdaq here and being very picky when looking for Value stocks to buy.

This is always a fun chat.

Hope you enjoy it!

DeFi & Technical Analysis | My Conversation w/ Jim Bianco, CMT

May 6, 2021

The DeFi Revolution is upon us, at least according to Jim Bianco. For many years, I've looked up to Jim and the work he's been doing at Bianco Research and, in fact, he's the one who first inspired me to rip through hundreds of charts during my live presentations in order to get my points across. It took me about a decade to realize it, but it was him who I got that from.

Fast forward to 2021, and the Macro Technician who I've always admired has turned into one of the leading voices of what's taking place in DeFi, or "Decentralized Finance". Who better to talk to about what's going on than Jim himself? Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Yield Farming, Metamask Wallets, Coinbase....the whole thing.

Bearish or Bullish: Stocks, Crude Oil & Fried Chicken

May 5, 2021

Chop Chop Chop....Classic Year 2 Behavior for stocks continues.

Meanwhile, Crude Oil keeps on pressing up against these former highs. A breakout through 66 looks imminent.

This week we dropped a brand new 2-to-100 Club Report. Which names stood out from this week's scan?

And what about Fried Chicken? Which wine do we pair with that??

All this and more on the latest episode of Bearish or Bullish. Enjoy!

Bearish or Bullish: Is This Time Different?

April 27, 2021

On this week's episode of Bearish or Bullish, we talk about Year 2 of Bull Market cycles for stocks. Is this one those? Like 1976, like 1983, like 2004, like 2010?

What about Ethereum continuing to hold its breakout? Why is Ether doing so much better than Bitcoin?

Financials and European stocks breaking out of historic bases?

European Super Leagues? The Knicks don't suck?....what the heck is going on around here?

Let's discuss:

YOLO Responsibly

February 12, 2021

You have 2 choices:

1) You can complain that you don't like the rules, you don't like the people who make and enforce those rules, you don't like the people who take advantage of those rules and you can take your ball and go home. You can do that. You have that right in this country.

or

2) You can acknowledge the fact that you don't like certain rules, you may not like some of the people who make and enforce the rules, and you especially don't like some people who take advantage of those rules. But if you can't beat them, join them!

We choose #2. Because this is nothing new. We figured this out decades ago.

Welcome to the market.

Enjoy!

[Video] The Untitled Chart Show w/ Josh Brown

February 2, 2021

Every month we get a fresh batch of Monthly Candlesticks. It only happens 12 times a year.

I promise you guys from the bottom of my heart that there is no other part of my entire process that provides as much value and information as my monthly chart review. Premium Members can access the Chartbook here.

In the meantime, my friend Josh Brown and I have been doing these short monthly videos since last summer. They're fun and I like how he pushes back against me sometimes. In other interviews they make it too easy on me. I like these!

This month we talk about how scared investors are right now. What's more bullish than a bunch of worried investors with stocks all over the world making new all-time highs?

Is this Silver breakout for real? We have well-defined risk parameters to keep us on the right side of the trade.

Where's the next squeeze coming from? We dive in.

And are investors prepared for this new Commodities Supercycle? I don't think they are. Neither does Josh.

Short Squeezes & Congressional YOLOs | Happy Hour w/ Howard Lindzon

January 28, 2021

This week Howard and I talk about the short squeezes happening in this market. We've seen it in GameStop $GME, Blackberry $BB and AMC Theatres $AMC. Are more of them coming? Why should investors care?

How about the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi trading Tesla Call Options. Should we complain about her trading habits, or do we use that as information? In other words, what does she know that the rest of us don't, that drove her to invest in so many options contracts?

Are you on Clubhouse? Is this the new Social Media App that everyone will be on? For questions like these, I always turn to Howard Lindzon.

We cover all that and so much more in the latest episode of Happy Hour w/ Traders:

The Josh & JC Show: Market's Biggest Trends

January 12, 2021

We're back this month with another edition of the Josh & JC show.

This is where I sit down with my boy Josh Brown and talk about the most important Monthly Charts I see around the world.

I love doing this monthly show. Josh and I have been good friends for the better part of the past 2 decades. He knows me really well by now, and I think I've got a pretty good handle on him too, although he certainly finds ways to surprise me quite often.

On this month's show, we take a look at Financials potentially breaking out. One of the leaders is Goldman Sachs, as $GS is now back above its 2007 highs. Meanwhile, Consumer Discretionary is breaking out to new all-time highs relative to Consumer Staples, which is consistent with higher stock prices. But that doesn't mean that Staples can't do well on an absolute basis. And finally, Commodities are breaking out. Crude Oil is back above its 2016 lows. And with all of this bullish talk, what's it going to take to position ourselves more defensively? I lay out the 4 most important signals that we're watching.

Here's the video in full:
