It's been a historic bull market for stocks - One of the best periods to own equities in American history. I hope you participated along with us.
But believe it or not, the U.S. was not the biggest winner. There are other parts of the world that have actually outperformed U.S. equities - both the S&P500 and the Nasdaq100 returns.
Look at the Tel Aviv 125 Index, for example, breaking out of this multi-year base to new all-time highs:
Some of the best opportunities in the market are when the narrative steers you one way, but the reality is actually something else completely different. Israel has been exactly that.
How much negativity have we heard about what's happening in Israel over the past year? Again, whether the negativity is justified or not isn't the point I'm making here.
I'm specifically pointing out that yes, in fact, there has been an overwhelming amount of negative discussion about what is happening in Israel. Facts only.
And despite all of this rhetoric, the stocks in Israel have been absolutely ripping.
That sort of dislocation between a narrative and reality is exactly what we look for here on a daily basis.
Notice how China outperformed the U.S. this year as well:
China has been an underperformer for the majority of the careers of a lot of people on Wall Street. We were told that a Trump victory would be terrible for Chinese stocks.
And what do you know. It's actually been the opposite.
As great as U.S. stocks have done in 2024 (S&P500 up 27% AND Nasdaq up 28%) China just put up a 30% spot, just behind Israel's 32% banner year.
I expect 2025 to be very different than this year, and even last year. And we'll be right here navigating the markets with you along the way.
Remember, plenty of stocks in both China and Israel trade right here on U.S. exchanges just like all the American companies. Next year's leading countries have stocks that trade here as well. We plan on owning them.
