Swing Trader Pro: Afternoon Briefing (02-14-2023)

February 14, 2023

From the Desk of Kimmy Sokoloff

The January CPI data came in a bit warmer than expected, and the market went every which way.

We also had a few Fed speakers today, so that added to the volatility.

Here are today’s trades:

  • I bought $SI on Feb. 9 at 16.50 and sold today at 17.40.
  • I bought $GOOGL at 93.62 and sold at 94.17,
  • I bought $BA at 216.92 and sold at 217.99.
  • I bought $META at 180.82 and sold at 181.48.
  • I bought $SQQQ at 35.49 and sold at 35.97.
  • I bought $HES on Feb. 10 at 146.60 and sold today at 148.03. I still own shares higher.

I called out an $UBER long at 34.50 and a $TSLA long at 202 for a move to 206. I traded both.

I booked one loser today:

  • I bought $COIN at 60.93 and sold at 56.03. I traded this small, as I don't trust a name like this fully.

I have open short positions in $NKE and $VLO. And I have open long positions in $HES, $MARA, and $UNG.

$SPY was as high as 415 and as low as 408.50.

If that can't give you whiplash, I don't know what can.

Let's see how the rest of the week goes.

Look for the Morning Briefing on Wednesday.
