Is This "Recession" Already Priced In?

April 18, 2022

I was at a family get together this weekend filled with Easter egg hunts, good wine and some great eats.

It was my wife's side of the family and some of them are familiar with what I do.

"So what are we doing about this upcoming recession, JC?"

"It's quite obvious a recession is coming..."

I responded with a question,

"How much of all that is already priced into the market?"

Last week we pointed to the fewest bulls among individual investors since 1992.

And say what you want about the AAII poll, or any single poll out there. They all have their flaws and they're all far from perfect.

So the idea is to take them in aggregate.

Here's another one for you.

Consumer Sentiment is down near levels only seen during the Great Financial Crisis, the Fiscal Cliff crisis, the Savings & Loans Crisis and the Death of Equities.

Just think about that. We're currently in the category with all of those:

Were those times to be buying stocks or selling them?

How much of this "upcoming recession" is already priced into the stock market.

What are you doing about that this quarter?

We'll be discussing exactly what we're doing about it on tonight's Live Video Call
