Introducing: Technical Analysis Radio

August 4, 2017

The smartest people I know consume the most content by reading books and listening to podcasts. That's just what it is. The common denominator among some of the least successful people I know is that they don't read books or listen to podcasts. They choose to spend that time watching the news. They read newspapers, magazines and things written by journalists, instead of actual professionals. I want to know what market participants are doing. I don't want some 26 year old with no investing experience deciding what is or isn't important to me. Let me hear it straight from the horse's mouth. That's why I like reading books and listening to podcasts produced by the actual market professionals themselves!

As much as I enjoy listening to the great podcasts that are already out there, like Barry's Masters in Business and Patrick's Investors Field Guide, us Technicians don't have one of our own. I think it's about time we change that....

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure and humility that I bring you the Allstarchars Podcast on Technical Analysis Radio! This is the first ever podcast completely dedicated to Technical Analysis and the Technicians who practice it. This not going to be another "Interviews with Traders" type deal. There are already some great podcasts that do that. We're here to try and make money in the market. Let's not forget that. We're not academics, we're not journalists, we're Technicians!

For each episode I will bring in a different guest. The first half will be more evergreen stuff that can live forever. During this first segment we will talk to guests about their process, why they choose this method and hopefully hear some fun stories. The second half of each podcast is all business. What are we seeing out there? You like stocks? Which ones? You hate bonds? Great, how low do you think they go? You want to short Dollars? Terrific. Time to buy Soybeans? Awesome!

I spent many years doing segments on the TV for pretty much every single Financial Media Outlet that's out there: Bloomberg, Fox, CNN, Wall St. Journal, CNBC, Yahoo Finance, BNN, and the list keeps going. One thing I noticed, for the most part, is they always wanted me to discuss what they felt was important (or what would help them sell more ads to sponsors). Sure, they would ask me what I wanted to talk about, but usually they would just dismiss it in favor of something like the S&P500 or Apple. Booooooring.....

We're not sell outs here. I don't care about selling ads. I don't even know how to sell ads. If you're a guest on Technical Analysis Radio, feel free to talk about anything you want. I don't care about sexy. We want to know what you think! That's why you were invited in the first place. You're the expert! So if it's a Euro/Yen trade that you like, or Chemical Stocks or Copper Futures, tell it like it is. And if you do want to talk about the S&P500 and Apple, that's cool too!

Our audience is smart, hard working, successful and hungry for more with a tremendous appetite for knowledge about Technical Analysis! I'm proud to have been able to build a massive global community over the past 7 years and by now, I know who they are and what they're interested in. They want the same things that I do! We want to hear from the best technicians in the world what they think about the current market environment. It's that simple.

This is going to be a blast!

Check out Episode 1 with Ralph Acampora! We talk about what he thinks right now for stocks, gold and interest rates. It's hard to have a conversation with Ralph without hearing some cool stories from the early years. This is a can't miss conversation!
