Swing Trader Pro: Afternoon Briefing (07-27-2023)

July 27, 2023

From the Desk of Kimmy Sokoloff

That was a big bounce this morning for the indices...

And then we faded, and gaps are getting filled to the downside.

We all know the market is in need of a breather, but it will do what it wants to do. I did miss some of my own trades today, but traders in the Live Trading Room captured them.

This is the $TGT trade I flubbed. I bought it, I wasn't patient, it ran to my price target, then I bought it back. I told the Live Trading Room it has room to 138!

Today I closed out the $HES shares that I've owned since January. I've bought it and sold it many times throughout the past six months. I can't list all the buys and sells.

Here are today’s trades:

  • I originally bought $HES on January 30 at 154.22 and then had the following action, which is incomplete: bought 142.90, sold 145.50; bought 146, sold 148; bought 140.50, sold 142.50; bought 120, sold 125; bought 126.80, sold 128.27; bought 146.85, sold 149.49; sold all at 151.26 today.
  • I bought $GOOGL at 131.84 and sold at 132.50.
  • I bought $TGT at 136.35 and sold at 136.45.
  • I bought $TGT at 136.88 and sold at 137.50.
  • I shorted $MSFT at 336.14 and covered at 335.14.
  • I bought $VLO at 127.42 and sold at 128.
  • I bought $AMD at 113.04 and sold at 113.54.
  • I bought $MCD at 297.76 and sold at 298.48.

I also called out setups in $TDOC, $ZM, $BA long and short, and $MCD twice, at 297 and then at 297.70.

I booked one loser:

I bought $SHOP at 67.37 and sold at 64.82.

I have open long positions in $VXX and $CRWD and open short positions in $QQQ, $KLAC, and $NFLX.

Have a great evening. Look for the Morning Briefing on Friday.
