"This Rally Is Manipulated"

January 24, 2023

From the Desk of Louis Sykes @haumicharts

I have to get this off my chest.

Wherever I look on Twitter, people are complaining about this rally.

They say it's manipulated.

They say it's all a conspiracy driven by Binance to get suckers to buy in before pulling the rug.

What's hilarious is that those same people were tilted when Alameda was around, arguing that they were manipulating the market.

Now Alameda's gone, they're looking for another scapegoat.

"My stops got hit, must've been Alameda."

No.

There isn't some random conspiracy entity chasing your stops.

You're just a shit trader.

Your biggest battle isn't trading against some mystical market maker hunting your stops. It's against your own instincts.

Now, sure, I'm probably in no place to lecture the public on trading, considering I'm still in the process of figuring this out myself.

But something I have learned in paying my market tuition is that a certain level of humility is required whenever your money is on the line.

I don't think there's a single trader who's made sustainable profits based on lofty theories of market manipulation.

The only factor that matters for a trader is evaluating money flow because it's the only thing that drives price. And, by extension, price is the only thing that pays.

So, even if we take the other side and argue that this recent rally was pure and complete manipulation, it doesn't even matter.

Do we have to give up our profits?

Of course not.

It's all a grift to generate clicks, not profits.

If prices are up, they're getting manipulated by bad actors using wash trading, bots, and unbacked stablecoins. Exchanges and whales are collectively working together to blow out shorts and create exit liquidity.

But if prices are down, it's because someone's going to jail or whales are collaborating together to create a long squeeze.

It's nothing but intellectual laziness.

Don't listen to these people.

Be different.

Follow price.
