We opened up on the indices, and they came back down to fill their respective gaps.

We trended higher the rest of the day, but it was a pretty volatile morning.

Here are today's trades:

  • I shorted $ORCL at 73.03 and covered at 72.59.
  • I shorted $VLO at 129.01 and covered at 128.51.
  • I shorted $ORCL at 72.53 and covered at 72.33.
  • I bought $CHWY at 37.81 and sold at 38.09.
  • I bought $SE at 45.24 and sold at 45.64.
  • I bought $MS on Oct. 18 at 80.45 and sold today at 81.10.

This was odd, as there was a spike at 10:47 a.m. ET and 33,531 shares traded. I happened to get executed. I think it was a fat finger by someone that spiked the stock.

I also called out long setups in $SPY and $QQQ this morning, with targets of 380 and 279.40, respectively.

I took one loss today:

  • I shorted $VLO at 127.57 and covered at 129.18.

I have one open position:

  • I bought $TLT at 93.60.

The SPX held in nicely at the close. Resistance above is 3,800, then 3,827.
