Over the past few days I’ve received requests from readers about my thoughts on Russian stocks. While I don’t particularly care about the US/Russia relations when it comes to picking stocks to buy and sell, it seems to be something of interest to a lot of people. So let’s dive in. [Read more…]
[Chart Of The Week] What Latin America Is Suggesting For The Next Move In Crude Oil
One of the benefits of it being 2016 is that global markets are more interrelated than ever before. We can take price data from the other side of the world and use it to take advantage of domestic markets in the United States as well as many other countries and asset classes. To purposely ignore what is taking place in markets around the world seems irresponsible at this point.
Today we are watching what Latin American stocks are suggesting for the next direction in Crude Oil prices: [Read more…]
Audio: Benzinga Morning Radio Show 9-22-16
Earlier today I was on the Benzinga morning radio chatting with Joel and Dennis about the current market environment. We’ve been pounding the table bullish U.S. stocks for almost 3 months now and fortunately the market has cooperated with us. Technology has been the big leader along the way and I think this theme continues. Meanwhile, money has rotated out of bonds as interest rates have risen with stocks over the past few months.
We discuss this rotation and some of my favorite names in the tech space. Here is the interview in full: [Read more…]
Audio: Benzinga Morning Radio Show 8-4-16
Every 2 weeks I sit down with the good folks at Benzinga to chat about the markets on their morning radio show. Today we discussed the rotation in stocks out of more interest rate sensitive sectors like Utilities and Staples and into things like Technology and Financials. We also go over Crude Oil, Apple and precious metals.

Back in February our line in the sand was $29.60 based on multiple key Fibonacci extensions clustering together near that level. We wanted to be aggressively long Crude Oil along with energy stocks, emerging market country ETFs as well as the metals and mining stocks and commodities that had high correlations with that particular emerging space. With Crude Oil specifically, our tactical upside target was $38, and our longer-term target was $50. Both of these upside objectives have now been achieved.
So now what?

Every 2 weeks I sit down with the good folks at Benzinga to chat about the markets on their morning radio show. Today we went over why I still think a more neutral to bearish stance is best tactically in U.S. Stocks. We also talk about this rally in Japanese Yen means to the Stock Market. This Yen strength combined with the deterioration in market breadth over the past month, there is a lot more to be negative about than positive. Stocks are not where we’ve wanted to be in April, and staying away has worked out well. The place to have been is in Commodities. I think this theme is here to stay.
